What is the Israeli Center for the Advancement of Social Justice?

The Israeli Center for the Advancement of Social Justice is an association of volunteers that serves as a lobby for the advancement and cultivation of a just, unified and qualitative society. Amongst the founders and members of the association, which is a non-partisan organization, are senior professionals of the social-economic work field, and the academic field.

Why was the Israeli Center for the Advancement of Social Justice established?

The Center was founded by a group of citizens concerned with the increase of social-economic inequality in Israel. Its members perceive inequality as harming social solidarity and the ability of low-income groups to break out of their situation. We believe that it is necessary to act towards social-economic change in alternative ways than those chosen by existing social organizations.

The Center’s members believe:

In a worldview based on the principles of social justice, equal opportunity and integration of all population groups.

That the continuation of a sustainable economic growth of the state of Israel is dependant upon a policy that will simultaneously act upon the development of human and social capital, and the implementation of dialogue between the different population groups.

That all legislation and actions for change of the current social-economic situation require a comprehensive examination of the implications the suggested change will have upon the current and future quality of life of all population groups in Israeli society, while maintaining the advancement of social justice principles.

That in order to strengthen the solidarity of the entire society, it is necessary to relate to all population groups, not only low-income groups.

That for the realization of social justice principles in Israel it is important and mutually advantageous to strengthen the relations between the fieldwork, the academic, and the legislative areas.

The distinctiveness of the Center for the Advancement of Social Justice is in the activity that is directed at advancing the awareness and realization of the above social conception.
